Some time ago I've been getting messages that I suggest you make a small guide explaining how to upload music to a website, but without complicated life: something simple and straightforward (the truth is that he had referred to, because there are already Too many sites 'help' to talk about it).

However, as the e-mails related to this issue have not stopped, I've gotten to work: of the many players who are currently, I have chosen the MixPod as an object of this article.

Note: If what they want is to put many songs on the player, by way of a small radio, perhaps the entry for Filed SingingBox and find it most useful.

MixPod: a player for your website - General

Mixpod is a player from which you can listen to audio files or watch videos in a simple way:

1. Pick-or indicate the URL where the songs are up ".
2. Choose the 'widget' one we like.
3. Save the result and get the code to insert into our site.

In the middle is worth mentioning that you can see the player as it will appear on our site, sort the list of themes and comment on them, add or remove songs at any time change model 'widget' with one click, chat ( Meebo) or enter the forums, invite friends or leave messages, listen to music online, etc..

Then we will see the steps to follow to achieve our goal.

MixPod: register for the service

. It is always good to do, for the choices and benefits that are obtained considerably multiply: do not worry, that unlike other services MixPod not fill of spam your inbox.

Simply go to your main page , click where it says Sign Up, and fill out the information you requested. Then, confirm your registration through email and ready.

In the next picture, red arrows indicate what to do to register (fill in information requested). The blue arrows indicate how to access your account once registered (just write your e-mail address and password).

MixPod: creating list of songs

Upon entering we will meet a number of options to customize our account: this time we will focus only on the relation to create the player that will contain our (s) song (s) ... or, Create Playlist.

For that, we give the tab that says 'Create Playlist':

The system shows the song selection screen. In principle, there are 2 options for this task:

1. Using the included music library

Immediately see a list of items, which resulted from the search-content MixPod server. Here are several things to consider, so help us capture relevant:

On the right, above, we have the default player (not the one who will go on our page that we have not yet chosen) from where you can listen / watch each product of the search topic before 'add it' to our list songs.

On the right, down, find our famous list of songs, which currently is empty because we have not included anything in it.

On the left are the first 5 search results (should be down on the page to see the rest) with a photo, links, and symbols that we should know:

). - MixPod gives the search results enabling us to see / hear the songs in the player before adding to our list: we can choose any of the two options (the option to view the video on Youtube is displayed by default).

In addition, clicking on the picture of each outcome, opens a new page that shows album in which the item is contained, enabling us to choose other titles belonging to it.

- At the far right of each result are two buttons whose symbols are quite intuitive: the arrow can hear a song on the player before you include in the list, and the amount added to the same topic.

- Under the title and artist of each item we find the following links:

ringtone: Ringtone for cell phone, available only in certain countries.
buy: You can buy the original song from Amazon .
lyrics: it displays a 'widget' with the lyrics of the song.
Favorites: Add the song to your favorites.
share: automatically throws you three links: one to be able to hear / see the item in question MixPod page, other links to it from your website, and finally the player code containing the item for inclusion in your page.
review: You can write your opinion about the song.

). Made the explanations, I will pick a couple of songs from Franz Ferdinand to 'add them' to my songs (refresh the page if you are not automatically in it). The result, then:

In the same way we can keep adding all the items we want to make the respective searches.
Once we have completed our list we will proceed to next step, but ... What if the library has no songs MixPod seek?

It is clear that one can only find there more commercial items, so if they want to give your player some that not be so, a prerecorded podcast or any audio file you have on your computer (or whose URL is well known), do so as follows ...

2. Using a free hosting server

Although some accounts are 'maintenance' from several days ago (mine included), I'm recommending Filed as first choice to host the audio files.

Before doing so, there are some things to consider and I have already explained at the time: check the entry for SingingBox and filed .

Once aware of how you and having already uploaded the files to your account, all you have to do is go to the tab that says 'Add URL' and include the URL respective spaces, the name and title of each .

When we have completed the list of items to show in our player, we move to step two: choose the one that best suits our needs.

MixPod: choosing the player

Here you can choose from 23 styles of widgets to our page / entry, modify it as we wish (background, color, etc..), And specify parameters such as autostart, volume, repetition, etc.

'. We then go to the Customize tab and set the default is in the sub-tab that says 'Skins'. Here you choose the type of player that we like, by simply clicking on it: this will then replace the conventional player and we have a vision of what we include in our website.

If we modify it a bit (background, colors, etc..) You just have to go to the sub-tab that puts Colors and Styles and play with the possibilities there are:

The third and last sub-tab is important: Settings indicate the default volume of our players, if we want to start automatically, skip between songs, etc..

MixPod: keeping and publishing the player

In the Save Playlist tab we are able to save all the work done. To do this we must assign a name to our list, a brief description, three musical genres and some key words that can be found ... until I understand it, only the title is required.

Then we give the green button that says 'Save Code' and we get the famous player code to publish on our website.
All this can be seen in the following screenshot:

Once this page appears to us where we can, in addition to copy the corresponding code, post our player on Facebook, Blogger, MySpace, Hi-5, etc.: To do this just follow the instructions listed there.

Nothing more. We can only put the code found on our web site and / or items chosen by changing the parameters of size (width and height) if necessary ... but not enough to "deform" our player.
